Last week, the bulk of the 4th graders began to bind their sketchbooks and insert their blank pages for sketching and planning. One of our classes was cancelled due to the annual Peace Walk, but everyone will catch up this coming week! After sewing their pages in, students went back to completing and coloring their zentangle cover designs. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of photos because my hands are very busy on sewing days!

The fourth graders will spend their year integrating geometry into their artwork. For their first class, they learned how to create a zentangle, an abstract work of art consisting of large shapes that are filled with patterns. These designs required students to use lines, shapes, patterns and variety, which are key elements in creating a unique and dynamic composition. |
